Basic Course in Molecular Diagnostics was a three-day scientific and practical workshop organized by the Nepalese Association for Clinical Chemistry (NACC) in collaboration with the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and sponsored by Axis Medibiz Pvt. Ltd.
The course provided comprehensive training in the fundamentals and clinical applications of molecular diagnostics, covering human genetics, DNA/RNA isolation and quantification, PCR, qPCR, Sanger sequencing, MLPA, next-generation sequencing (NGS), molecular diagnosis of hereditary and infectious diseases, newborn screening, and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). The program also included in-silico training and clinical case discussions.
The course featured international experts including Dr. José Eduardo Levi, Dr. Bartłomiej Budny, Dr. Robin Wijngaard, and Dr. Orland Diez Gilbert, providing participants with exposure to current technologies, diagnostic approaches, and clinical applications in modern molecular medicine.
