1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of nacc.org.npand the 6th NACC Annual Meeting conference microsite (together, the "Site"), operated by the Nepalese Association for Clinical Chemistry ("NACC", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing the Site, applying for membership, registering for an event, or submitting content to us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, and forms part of these Terms by reference.
2. Who We Are
NACC is a non-governmental organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal, established in 2014 to advance clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. We are affiliated with the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and the Asia-Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry (APFCB).
3. Eligibility and Accounts
The Site is intended for laboratory medicine and clinical chemistry professionals, researchers, students, and institutions, as well as members of the public seeking information about NACC. Where a membership application, conference registration, or abstract submission asks for personal or professional details, you agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it up to date.
You're responsible for anything submitted under your name or on your behalf through the Site's forms, including membership applications and abstract submissions.
4. Membership
Membership is offered in the tiers described on our Membershippage and is subject to review and approval by NACC's executive committee. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
- Membership fees, once paid, follow the refund terms in Section 10.
- Members are expected to act professionally and in good faith in all NACC-affiliated activities, including the annual meeting, publications, and online communications.
- NACC may suspend or terminate a membership for conduct that violates these Terms, misrepresents professional credentials, or brings the association into disrepute, following reasonable notice where practicable.
5. Events, Conferences and Registration
Registration for the NACC Annual Meeting or any other NACC event is subject to the fees, deadlines, and category rules published on the relevant event page at the time of registration. Registration is confirmed only once payment is received and acknowledged.
- Program content, speakers, dates, and venue are subject to change; we'll post updates on the Site where changes occur.
- Event photography, recordings, or publication of proceedings may include attendees; by attending, you consent to reasonable use of such material for NACC's reporting and promotional purposes.
- Cancellation and refund terms for a given event are set out in Section 10 and on that event's registration page.
6. Abstracts, Papers and Publications
By submitting an abstract, research paper, poster, or other academic material to NACC, you confirm that:
- The work is your own, or you have the right to submit it on behalf of all listed co-authors.
- It has not been published elsewhere in a way that would violate the submission guidelines for the relevant event or publication.
- It does not infringe any third party's copyright or other rights, and contains no fabricated, plagiarized, or misrepresented data.
You retain copyright in your own work. By submitting, you grant NACC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to review, edit for formatting, publish, and archive the submission as part of the conference proceedings or NACC's publications, including on this Site.
Submissions found to contain plagiarized or fabricated content may be rejected or withdrawn at any stage, including after acceptance.
7. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, the Site's design, layout, graphics, and NACC-authored text are the property of NACC and may not be copied, republished, or used commercially without our written permission. Published research and abstracts remain the intellectual property of their respective authors, subject to the license described in Section 6.
The IFCC and APFCB names, logos, and any other third-party marks shown on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used here to indicate affiliation, not endorsement of unrelated content.
8. Acceptable Use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, its underlying systems, or other users' data.
- Scrape, harvest, or republish personal contact information published on the Site (such as committee or member listings) for unsolicited marketing or any purpose unrelated to NACC business.
- Upload or submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes another party's rights.
- Interfere with the Site's normal operation, including through malware, denial-of-service activity, or automated bulk requests.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with NACC or use NACC's name or marks to imply an endorsement that hasn't been given.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The Site relies on third-party infrastructure, including hosting (Vercel), our content platform (Sanity CMS), payment processing, and embedded services such as Google Maps. We also link to affiliated bodies (IFCC, APFCB) and other external resources. We don't control these third parties and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or practices — their own terms and privacy policies apply when you interact with them directly.
10. Payments, Fees and Refunds
Membership and event fees are stated in the applicable currency on the relevant page at the time of payment. Payments made by bank transfer or other methods we publish are processed manually or through third-party payment gateways; we do not store full payment card details.
Unless a specific event page states otherwise, the following general refund principle applies to conference registration: a full refund is available if cancellation is requested before the deadline published on that event's registration page; after that deadline, fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Membership fees are generally non-refundable once an application has been approved and processed.
For payment queries relating to a specific event, use the contact details published on that event's registration page, or reach the secretariat at info@nacc.org.np.
11. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Content on this Site — including publications, abstracts, conference materials, and general information about clinical chemistry — is provided for professional and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, is not a substitute for professional clinical judgment, and should not be relied on for diagnosis, treatment, or patient care decisions.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NACC and its officers, committee members, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, attendance at an NACC event, or reliance on content published here. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Nepali law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold NACC harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Site, or content you submit that infringes another party's rights.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute arising from your use of the Site or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services or to applicable law. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@nacc.org.np, or see our Contact page for other ways to reach the secretariat.
